The Mobile Learning Portal:This website, hosted by the Learning Technology Center in theCollege of Education at The University of Texas at Austin, is designed to be a central point of access to the wide range of research, projects, and other resources related to the use of mobile technologies in learning environments. As it continues to grow and expand, the site will address issues of interest to researchers, practitioners, and educational leaders. The types of resources provided through the Mobile Learning Portal include a large collection of research articles; a listing of journals related to mobile and educational technologies; a repository of information about new and ongoing mobile learning initiatives; and a collection of the institutional, state, and national policies that will impact the future directions of this emerging field.

The London Mobile Learning Group:  Mobile learning is an emerging, and rapidly expanding field of educational research and practice across schools, colleges and universities as well as in the work place. The London Mobile Learning Group (LMLG) brings together an international, interdisciplinary group of researchers from the fields of cultural and media studies, sociology, (social) semiotics, pedagogy, educational technology, work-based learning and learning design. The group has developed a theoretical and conceptual framework for mobile learning around the notion of cultural ecology. The analytical engagement with mobile learning of the group takes the shape of a conceptual model in which educational uses of mobile technologies are viewed in ecological terms as part of a cultural and pedagogical context in transformation.

Mobile Technology Learning Center,University of San Diego: The MTLC is designed to establish the university research environment of the future, while concurrently fueling innovation in K-12 education. Research projects focus on the applications of mobile learning devices to learning and tests new solutions in real-world contexts—schools. The MTLC involves collaborations with local PK-12 districts to test research findings and provide future teachers with unique teaching and research opportunities.

MIT Center for Mobile Learning @ The Media Lab: The Center for Mobile Learning (CML) at the MIT Media Lab invents and studies new mobile technologies to promote learning anywhere anytime for anyone. We focus on mobile tools that empower learners to think creatively, collaborate broadly, and shape their information environments to be personally engaging and relevant to their own interests. We also work with teachers, mentors, and other facilitators to help them realize the full potential of mobile learning. We believe that teachers and learners should create new mobile technologies, not only experience them as consumers.

Joint Information Systems Committee: We are the UK's expert on digital technologies for education and research.
